MY MAGAZINES HISTORY

Date added: 20. 10. 2000

I had many experience with slovak gaming and computer related magazines. I wrote very, really very much articles through 8 years of being an editor. But this year I finally ended this era. Reasons? Firstly, very bad games - I didn't have fun from testing and playing them. Secondly, very boring work, especially when you are 8 years writing about the same, you only need every time to use other and other words. And thirdly - very badly situated press market in Slovakia. We had big competition with Czech republic, but we cannot be succesful because of slovak language. The problem is of course larger, but it isn't important. Important is, that writing is over. :)

1992 - 1994: AMI (diskmag)

Very nice slovak diskmag on Amiga. I began to write some articles about games there and I recognized that it was quite fun :)

1994 - 1996: RIKI (gaming magazine)

First "serious" gaming magazine in Slovakia and I really was the lucky one of the "starters". It was funny weird work, where chaos was behind everything. Best demonstration of chaos was the fact that I was some time chiefeditor :). Anyway, this era gave me very much experience - about work and cooperation - I learned what is good to do and what isn't.

1997 - summer 2000: RAVEN (diskmag/e-zine)

This is something that I call "my baby", although I didn't create it. I participated on origin of Raven and two years I was chiefeditor. Raven was diskmag about games, films, music, later it changed his sense to "Independent gaming web ". Whole time of existence was Raven known with his non-commercial character and big quality of articles. In summer 2000 had the main editors (including me) considered to stop Raven for some time. We had another work and hadn't time to continue on Raven. Raven has oficially never ended and sometime may work again. But I, personally, doubt it.

1998 - summer 2000: CDtip (multimedia magazine)

First serious work. I was editor responsible for games in CDtip and little while was the deputy editor. It was nice time, I had permanent connection to internet, which I liked very much :). If there wouldn't be three reasons which I mentioned in the beginning of this article, I would work for CDtip also today :)

OTHER MEDIA

For short time I had my game department in other media - in 1999 it was weekly magazine MARKIZA, in 2000 daily SME, some articles I had in GURU, PC REVUE and FREESOFT. That should be all :)
