- "The Contra Hardcorps Rocks!" (by Zak, 3 Dec 2002) [9/10]
This file contains a few boring tunes (they were cool in the games though. What makes this package worth downloading is a megamix of remixes. It rocks!
A must have!
- "Megamix" (by Flash, 6 Dec 2002) [9/10]
There are some good tunes in this pack but one is definitely the best: the megamix. The other tunes aren't bad but the megamix is - in many ways - much better than the others. The tunes of Contra were good on the NES and this metal mix is just excellent. It has some orchestral and nintendoish (sine waves, squares etc.) samples, too. And it's very long: over 7 minutes. I highly recommend it. I give this pack 9 points, mostly because of the megamix.

- "Not as good as Super Contra (or Super C)" (by Dr. Spa, 24 Feb 2008) [7/10]
I'm not that keen on the "enemy fortress" theme and I think the only reason I like Lis Vender's is because of the samples and her other remixes. The megamix is good though!!! It sounds like a brilliantly improved and resampled NESMusa song!
I prefer the songs from Super Contra (or C), but that might be because I have the game, whilst I don't have Contra.
- "Gryzor" (by Marhoohn, 7 May 2008) [8/10]

- "Great tunes!" (by JaadWoro, 9 Sep 2010) [10/10]
Brings back great memories of OLD days team-play!
Let me quote the author (Jacob Kaufman) of the MEGAMIX:
you know damned well that the little japanese guys making contra listened to 80's metal. they had rocker! posters with big blond guys holding odd-shaped guitars, faced painted in various ways. and they made prog metal on the NES. the poor guys got slighted - BRILLIANT work was made insignificant in the public eye because it was "blips and bleeps." Only us hardcore nerds can see through the square waves and pick out the music.
