(by YaroslaF, 25 Jun 2004) [10/10] Many years ago I was searching and searching to get this album. And one day my dream came true :) Chris Huelsbeck is the best german game music composer and Turrican is his greatest work. It is not usual to hear VGM album with many different tracks which you rate 10/10. I know many great albums with usually one or a few great track(s) and the rest is "the sauce". But Turrican is a exception, this album is loaded with majority of 10/10 tracks. The album starts with introduction to the game - the spoken track. Nevermind, it is just the beginning:) Then the MUSIC begins. There are lot of combat music tracks and at the end of album there are also some slow ones. The last track MEDLEY is like resume of all the tracks before. I cannot rate this album else than 10/10 and cannot get bored playing it. And last information: I have never played the game Turrican. (For the ones who have some favourite CD just for he or she has played the game and want to remember those great times by listening the game music.) I hope it was at least a little comprehensible. Note: All thoughts above are my own opinions so you haven't to agree with them. But you could take them as an advice and try to listen this album, you'll be surprised ;) ![]() ![]() "A lot of Work went into this" (by Mr Ad, 25 Jun 2004) [9/10] Loads of tunes from Sonic adventure to conjure up all the fun and frustration of playing that excellent game. The music is top and some interesting stuff has been done on some tracks. I didn't care for a few of them but this is still great stuff. ![]() ![]() "Halfway to Paradise" (by Mr Ad, 25 Jun 2004) [7/10] These are some pretty decent arrangements of some of the Darkstalkers 3 tunes. All of them are musical and recognisable. A couple of them are almost spot on (The first Vanity Paradise Track is my personal favourite.)It isn't complete by any means but hey ... there was a lot of music in that game! ![]() ![]() "zool game rip" (by jb, 24 Jun 2004) [5/10] Fun for kids. Different versions of the same song. Happy and weeee! ![]() ![]() "zool 2 game rip" (by jb, 24 Jun 2004) [9/10] Great techno! Fun and easy to dance to. ![]() ![]() "Unreal Game rip" (by jb, 24 Jun 2004) [9/10] Excellent! If you dont know, there is a secret to this MOD. Deli Player lets you play all of the songs! First there is a regular song setting then a sub-song setting. Unreal Crypt sub is my fave. ![]() ![]() "Deus Ex: The music takes control!" (by jobeGDG, 23 Jun 2004) [9/10] Deus Ex is a game where your style of play dictates the music you hear. You go stealth, you hear the stealthy stuff. You go in guns blazing, you hear the upbeat stuff. But for me, there was more to it than that. My style of play didn't dictate the music so much as the music dictated my style of play. The music in this game captivated me to the point where I wanted to hear all the music available in play… so I ended up shooting things when I knew it was a bad idea... just so I could soak in all of the fantastic music Deus Ex has to offer! ![]() ![]() "Nutz & Milk make Ya' go nutz" (by Dr. Spa, 22 Jun 2004) [9/10] It starts off as it's original theme and then it is the ingame music... It picks up the pace a bit with those weird bass drum samples. Well it really aint that good but I think because it was a real attempt of converting the original, REAL soundtrack from Nuts & Milk, I think it deserves a 9/10. Btw... I'm being very generous :) ![]() ![]() "Isn't it supposed to be virtual racing???" (by Dr. Spa, 22 Jun 2004) [7/10] Well, Classification: Theme, Racing Game. It's a real classic for old racing games. I think it would sound a bit better on an arcade system or something in chip-form. This is like TOO REPETETIVE ![]() ![]() "Unreal tournament game rip" (by jb, 22 Jun 2004) [10/10] Kick butt tunes. I love to drive and listen to ''Save Me'' and ''Razorback''. Phantom is my personal fave. ![]() ![]() "Monty's been on the run for simply AGES!" (by Dr. Spa, 21 Jun 2004) [10/10] This is what I call music! GET GET GET!!! That song by M.Birch is just brilliant!!! It deserves a good listeneing to! ![]() ![]() "Super Mario or Super Music" (by Dr. Spa, 21 Jun 2004) [7/10] A few ambient chip ones from MAF. A loud one from Reflex and some Game Rips from the other unknown guy. ![]() ![]() "The Arcade Experiance" (by Dr. Spa, 21 Jun 2004) [10/10] Wo-ho-hoay! This tune turns out to be great chipmusic. The start reminds me of when I tryed to TORTURE a tune with outragously high sounds... But then it picks up and it turns into more of a racing tune :) ![]() ![]() "Non-Goony" (by Dr. Spa, 21 Jun 2004) [8/10] Great Melodies. Some of them really sound horrible and ear-peircing but some are quite nice... Highly Reccomended ![]() ![]() "Dreamfish" (by Avatek, 20 Jun 2004) [9/10] Dreamfish/TRSI is a f@#ck'n legend mate, this is the second perfect conversion of I've heard of his, and ofcourse respect to one our forefathers/GODS- M.Galway ![]() ![]() "Jesper and Gray" (by Avatek, 20 Jun 2004) [7/10] Trust Jesper Kyd (who could forget global trash) to take on this most challengeing tune, really, this is my second favourite 64 memory track from my youth, a true classic, whoever was that legend Fred Gray? ![]() ![]() "Memories" (by Avatek, 20 Jun 2004) [9/10] This use to be my favourite peice on the 64, it is short but a f@#k'n knockout. ![]() ![]() "Excellent" (by Avatek, 20 Jun 2004) [8/10] Nice renditions, though one doesn't work properly in Madtracker. ![]() ![]() "Commander" (by Dr. Spa, 20 Jun 2004) [7/10] I uploaded the highscore tunes, There actually quite nice... Worth checking out ; )
